Episode 10 – An Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) Industry Executive Special

Join the Crew Host Katye McGregor Bennett and Corey Moss as they welcome on this special podcast:

Mike Blackman – Managing Director at Integrated Systems Events
Dave Labuskes – Executive Director and CEO at InfoComm International
Vin Bruno – CEO at CEDIA

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is the AV industry’s largest trade show which takes place in Amsterdam February 7th – 10th at the RAI Convention Center. Join us for an insightful and engaging podcast discussion on ISE 2017 and more with the executives of the show. Mike Blackman joined the podcast from the RAI during his final walkthrough before the show to bring some of those insights (we’d like to thank him for taking time out of his busy schedule during the day to join us!).

Editor note: Unfortunately certain portions of the discussion had to be removed due to WiFi issues experienced at the RAI at times during the podcast – Mike will re-join Katye and Corey on another podcast shortly to discuss the show (we would like to thank Wildwood PR in the UK for their help in coordination of Mike Blackman’s participation from the RAI).

Episode 9: Talking NAMM, Tech, Training (and Telecasters)

Join The Crew Corey Moss, Justin Watts and Deron Pinchback as they continue to bring in the New Year with their guests:

Eric Larsen – Director of Marketing at TEAC/TASCAM
Paul Zielie – Manager, Enterprise Solutions at HARMAN

The North American Music Merchants (NAMM) Show, held in Anaheim CA at the Anaheim Convention Center in January is an annual event in the US that its organizers describe as “the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products industry”.

After some Twitter shoutouts and a Holiday episode (6) reference, Eric, who will be there, talks about the show that he has been attending for quite some time as a NAMM member, this is his first year participating as an exhibitor with the company. Justin takes over the host microphone on this show and talks in depth with Eric about NAMM, what the company will be doing at the show, some of the people that will be joining them there along with some of his past experiences. Paul, a knowledge leader in the audio visual industry adds to the discussion, and he, along with Eric and the Crew talk equipment, technology and more.

After the Tier PM ‘Hot Jobs’ segment, Justin talks about Audinate who will be providing Dante audio networking training at the show – here is full information. The Crew and guests continue to talk about Dante, along with more about retailers, music and gear.

The Telecasters? Yes, there’s some discussion of Fender Telecasters (and Strats), and Justin also reveals the title of Eric’s upcoming autobiography – we believe it’ll be an instant bestseller. There will be much more talk of guitars, gear, music and more on an upcoming episode with Eric and others.

Join The Crew Corey Moss and Taylor Meyer as they bring in the New Year with guest Paul Zielie, Manager Enterprise Solutions at HARMAN to talk about the consumer mega-show – CES 2017 in Las Vegas.

The trade show always well-known for the cool factor has done it again this year providing some pretty eye-opening technology – including these which all on the show talked about in Part One:

LG’s new amazingly thin (3.85mm) wallpaper 77″ 4K OLED TV
Razer’s Project Valerie – the world’s first automated triple display laptop with integrated 17.3-inch 4K screens
Acer’s massive 20 lb. Predator 21 X gaming laptop with a 21-inch curved display and eye-tracking technology
PowerVision’s PowerRay underwater drone with 4K camera, fishfinder and internal fish-luring light (and did we mention optional VR goggles?)
Kuri, the little home robot with the cheerful personality.
We also mentioned this article which featured CEO Alex Capecelatro, who participated in a panel discussion at the show and appeared on ‘The AV Life’ Episode 5.

In Part Two we talk with Paul about some of the technologies HARMAN brought to the show, including Connected Car and Connected Services (along with Lifestyle and more).
