Here we go – it’s time for…
The Firing Range!
Each of the people on the podcast discuss the following article:
Ars Technica: Users alarmed by undisclosed microphone in Nest Security System
Google Nest – what could possibly be the problem?
Umm, well – Google’s Nest smart home brand is in hot water this week after news surfaced (via Daring Fireball) that its home security system, Nest Secure, shipped with an undisclosed microphone. Google activated the microphone earlier this month for Google Assistant functionality, but that meant the device sat in users’ homes for up to a year as an unknown potential listening device.
Unknown potential listening device? Problem? Umm, yeah??
And the data? Oh, if Kym were only here…
Everyone weighed in on whether this is actually a problem, or maybe not so much? Listen in as all gave their thoughts, opinions and judgments – and you can get involved too. This podcast isn’t quite interactive yet, but hey go nuts with it.
And speaking of going nuts, toward the end Gabe and Kaleo may have gone over the line with goats.
Seriously, we just can’t make this stuff up.
Sit back, plug in, don’t be too alarmed – and join us as we live…
The AV Life.
